Part of the Medford metropolitan area, Central Point borders it to the north. Of the 17,000 residing in the city, 4,600 of those are families.
Central Point is home to the Jackson County Expo, which hosts popular events such as the Jackson County Fair, the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo, Southern Oregon's Brew Fest, and the Holiday Market. Many residents of the Rogue Valley plan their time around these events, creating successful turnouts for vendors and performers.
The Rogue Creamery is located in Central Point, boasting an annual Cheese Festival that brings in cheese enthusiasts from all around the area. In San Francisco, the Rogue Creamery won twice at the Good Food Awards (2016) with over 800 people in attendance.
The Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Society have taken on the operation of the Crater Rock Museum. The museum maintains displays, teaches classes and conducts tours in the goal of educating the public about the study of earth sciences.
