Located halfway between Talent and Medford, Phoenix is a small town of just 4,500 inhabitants. It was founded around 1850 by Samuel & Hiram Colver (noted by Colver Rd. in Talent).
Phoenix is a certified Bee City USA, which takes on the responsibility of a set of commitments for creating a suitable habitat for pollinators. It is the 9th certified Bee City USA Community.
The city has over 30 acres of land devoted to parks for its residents and visitors. The largest, Blue Heron Park, is 24 acres by itself and is used for festivals, movies and other events, private and public. It has access to the Bear Creek Greenway, which connects Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, Medford and Central Point through a biking and hiking trail.
