Located on a bend of the Rogue River, Gold Hill is home to 1,200 residents. The name of the city comes from the site of a gold discovery in the 19th century.
The city itself includes four parks, a jogging trail, a boat launch and an endless amount of Southern Oregon beauty. It is a peaceful community with a distinct small-town feel, boasting many recreational activities to keep residents happy.
One of the main attractions of Gold Hill is the rugged and scenic Rogue River that runs close by. The Rogue River hosts many different adventurous activities including kayaking, whitewater rafting and boating tours on class 3+ rapids. There are numerous hiking trails and parks along the river that bring in visitors from many different areas of the state.
