Situated on a tributary of the Rogue River, Eagle Point derives its name from a nearby cliff known as a favored nesting area for eagles. Population hovers around 8,600, with a small-town feel in its nearly 3 square miles. Over a third of the residing population are families.
Unlike some surrounding areas, Eagle Point doesn't suffer some of the hotter temperatures that can make a summer difficult. Average monthly temperatures hover around 70 degrees, creating an inviting warm-summer Mediterranean climate.
The city also boasts the Eagle Point Golf Course, an 18-hole, par 72 and championship length course of 7,099 yards. Eagle Point Golf Course was ranked sixth best course in the State of Oregon in Golf Digest. Equipped with a pro shop and an on-site restaurant, it wants for nothing for the golf enthusiast.
