The city of Rogue River is situated north of Interstate 5 between Gold Hill and Grants Pass. There are about 2,000 people residing in the city, a quarter of whom are families.
Alongside the city runs the Rogue River itself, home to salmon runs and numerous recreational activities. Boating, hiking and fishing are common along this rugged and scenic river, with Hellgate boating tours and class 3+ rapids for the whitewater enthusiast.
The Palmerton Arboretum is located in beautiful Rogue River, which includes almost 90 species of trees and shrubs from all over the world. It includes a duck pond, picnic area and playground. Admission to this 1930's-era tree nursery is free to the public.
